Ring of Gold 2008-2009 Ring of Gold Standings The current Ring of Gold Points System was approved by the American Gelbvieh Association’s Board of Directors on January 13, 2008. This revision consists of a five-tier system that is applicable to both Gelbvieh and Balancer shows based upon the actual number of entries shown, not number entered. (For more information regarding Balancer shows, please see below) This replaces the three-tiered system based on Minor, Major or Super Show status. As in the past, points are earned for Grand and Reserve Grand Champions, as well as Champions and Reserve Division Champions. In the case of cow-calf pairs, the female receives the points, not the calf shown by side. It remains the responsibility of the State Gelbvieh Associations to send the official results of State Fair shows to the AGA office within 30 days of the show. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Lori Maude at 303-465-2333.
The Ring of Gold Rules will be applicable to both Gelbvieh and Balancer shows. In order for AGA to recognize your show as a Ring of Gold point show it MUST meet these requirements.
Points will be based on number of head shown within the Gelbvieh division and Balancer division separately, not on number entered and not on a total of Gelbvieh and Balancers shown. 2007-2008 Ring of Gold Point Standings (as of 2/4/08) In order for a state show to become a sanctioned Ring of Gold (ROG) point show each state association must meet and follow the requirements listed below. · A show must meet the minimum requirement of 20 head for a period of two consecutive years.· All State Associations must submit a formal written request to the AGA Office for the show committee's review and approval. If approved by the show committee, it will then be recommended to the AGA Board of Directors at the January Board of Directors meeting for final approval.· Each state is allowed up to two ROG point shows. Each ROG point show is allowed a Gelbvieh Division and a Balancer Division. Shows such as the NILE, NAILE, American Royal and National Western will not be included in the host state's two-show maximum. State Fair shows are automatically sanctioned as one of the two ROG point shows. One additional show may be submitted for the National Show Committee's review after it has been addressed and voted upon before a state association's membership. Please submit all proposals to the American Gelbvieh Association office.
